The senior boys from St. John Henry Newman, who finished first overall in Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board soccer league play, defeated Bishop Ryan 2-0 Thursday to win the board title on their home pitch.

Newman also hosted the senior girls championship, with the Cardinals taking on St. Thomas More. The Newman girls, who also finished first in league play, fell to the second-place Knights 2-1 in the title game.
