Fond farewell for Freelton pastor
Letters
Jul 03, 2009
Dear Editor,
I wanted to thank everyone who helped to make Father Cook’s retirement party such a success.Fr. Cook is retiring from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Freelton, after 11 years as our pastor.
Many thanks to the people on the organizing committee, the Catholic Women’s League and members of the parish. It was a wonderful event with a lunch, pizza donated by Baker’s Corner in Freelton and cheese by Mickey’s Cheese of Dundas.
There were songs by the children – thanks to the leaders for preparing them.
As a member of the parish it was a wonderful day, and wonderful to see how much Father Phil will be missed.
Thanks to all who made it a wonderful afternoon of memories!
Barbara Laking, Freelton
