Weather watch: Expect a rainy weekend in Hamilton

A series of low-pressure systems are sweeping across the Great Lakes region, bringing a 60 per cent chance of showers on Friday, and an afternoon thunderstorm risk.

Friday’s high will reach 16 C.

As Friday’s storm system pushes its way through southwestern Ontario, the greater Toronto and Hamilton areas should miss the heavier rains forecasted for the Georgian Bay region and northeastern Ontario.

Showers should taper to drizzle by Saturday morning in Hamilton. Environment Canada predicts mainly cloudy conditions with an afternoon high of 19 C, slightly above the seasonal average for May 4 of 15.9 C.

Sunday will remain cloudy, with a 40 per cent chance of showers and a forecasted high of 18 C, also above the seasonal average of 16.2 C.

The sun finally returns on Monday, with an above-seasonal high of 20 C.
