The Hagersville and District Chamber of Commerce is celebrating outstanding achievement on May 16 at its annual Volunteer Recognition and Awards Night.
Nominations are now open for three community awards recognizing excellence in business and volunteerism.
The John Hamilton Almas Memorial Business of the Year is presented to a business or not-for-profit organization in the Hagersville area for contributions generating a positive community impact.

The Bill Courtnage Memorial Citizen of the Year is awarded to a nominee over 19, residing, working or volunteering in the Hagersville area. Volunteerism and community impact are key factors in choosing the year’s top citizen, the chamber said in a news release.
The Oliver and Bernice Sayer Memorial Junior Citizen of the Year is presented annually to an individual 19 or under residing or attending school in the Hagersville area. The award also emphasizes volunteerism and community impact.
Nominations must be submitted by Friday, April 26.
Award recipients will be revealed and recognized during the chamber’s annual award evening, held May 16 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 164 in Hagersville (5 Alma St. N.).
