A 66-year-old man remains in hospital in critical condition after being revived following a fire at a home near Gage Park on Friday morning.
A 60-year-old woman was conscious, but remains in hospital in stable, but critical condition, said Const. Indy Bharaj of the Hamilton police. Police are working with fire investigators, but the fire is not believed to be suspicious.
The two taken to hospital are siblings, he said. There was no one else in the house at the time.

Emergency services were called to 12 Hilda Ave. around 9:45 a.m.
Firefighters found “heavy smoke conditions” on the first floor of the two-and-a-half-storey house, deputy fire chief Dan Milovanovic said in an emailed statement.
During a “search and rescue,” one person was found trying to leave the residence, he said. That person was removed and treated by paramedics. Firefighters then found the second person without vital signs.
It appears the fire was in a dresser and that it was extinguished by the person found escaping the residence, Milovanovic said. The fire did not spread any further.
