After four months of renovations, Fortinos of Waterdown is hosting a celebration Saturday (Jan. 23) to show off its new look.
The 40,000-square-foot Hamilton St. store, which now sports wider aisles for better (customer) flow and a friendlier and more inviting environment will host festivities from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., serving cake and coffee, said franchisee Paul Anderson.
“We’re inviting everyone to come and check out our new look,” he said. Representatives of 102.9 K-Lite FM will provide satellite radio support during the celebration.
The store’s interior has been completely revamped with a new colour scheme and more lighting. Every department has been renovated, Anderson said, noting that the selection of products has also been expanded.
In the seafood section, now outfitted with an iceless counter, customers will be invited to sample new varieties of sushi. In the produce section, also sporting a new counter, customers can choose from a wider selection of items and, in the bakery, more frozen goods and a bigger assortment of cakes and pastries is now available. The new deli-cheese counter offers a larger array of domestic and international cheeses and the selection of frozen foods has also been expanded.
“We’re the first store within the Fortinos banner to start the new look,” Anderson said of the renovations. The redesign has elicited “excellent response” from customers who find the store more cheerful and inviting, he added.
