In Tennessee, religion and NASCAR form the basis of many people’s lives, and the two come together before every race.
On Saturday, March 20, Rev. Ted Vance of Millgrove United Church will be delivering the Prayer of Invocation just prior to the start of the Nationwide Series race at Bristol, Tennessee.
In his words, “It will be the largest congregation I’ll ever pray with. The stands hold 165,000 race fans, and the service will be televised on ABC to over three million people worldwide!”
Television coverage of the race and opening ceremonies begins at 2 p.m., and Millgrove will receive recognition on air.
