The Strabane Women’s Institute would like to thank our community for the support of our luncheon to help the people of Haiti on Feb. 13. We had soup, buns and treats for dessert and donations of door prizes.
This event came together quickly as we learned of the earthquake, and we are so grateful for all the help we received from everyone.
It was a wonderful success and we raised $1,012 to help the people so affected in Haiti. We want to thank those who came out for lunch and the local businesses and people who donated prizes.
We are grateful for the donations from Carlisle Flowers, Don Corby of Carlisle, Pavlo Pottery of Rockton, The Cookhouse of Rockton, Martin’s Jewelry of Dundas and The Willow Tree of Waterdown.
Individuals who made donations include: Brenda Drapper, Maria Berry, Sue Romano, and Cathy Baskin.
Our lunch was a success due to the support of the community and businesses around Strabane. Thank you for helping us to help the people of Haiti, who so greatly need our help.
