Cat Power to recreate famed 1966 Bob Dylan show at Fallsview Casino

It was at this show that Dylan followed his usual acoustic set with an electric set alongside a full band. His fans took it as a betrayal from the folk icon, with one member of the audience famously yelling out “Judas!” Dylan responded with “I don’t believe you … you’re a liar.” He then told his band to “play it f—-in’ loud” before a fierce performance of “Like a Rolling Stone.”

The concert is regarded as a turning point for rock music in the ’60s, and effectively ended the folk era of the early ’60s. The entire show was released as part of Dylan’s “Bootleg Series” in 1998.

Power’s own version of the concert was recorded in 2022 and released last November, complete with fabricated audience heckles.

Power has released 11 albums since the mid-1990s, building a huge cult following with albums such as 2008’s “Jukebox” and 2012’s “Sun.” LA Weekly once dubbed her the “queen of sadcore.”

She plays the 1,500-seat Avalon Theatre Sept. 14 at 8 p.m.
