Features Located near Joe Sams Leisure Park and a short distance from the historic downtown, this home is one of a handful of properties in the area listed for more than $1.5 million.
This seven-bedroom, two-bathroom Centre Road home has more than 3,000 square feet of living space and offers “rural-style living within city limits,” said Melissa Grover, a salesperson with Woolcott Real Estate.
Grover said while the home was built by Neven Custom Homes in 2013, the nearly half-hectare property houses a functional five-stall barn and is preapproved for animal use.

The home features large windows, vaulted ceilings, an exposed barn beam in the main bedroom and radiant in-floor heating throughout. Outside, there is a space where the current owner used to exercise horses.
“It’s a country home with all the modern comforts,” said Grover, pointing to the potential for homesteading aspirations, such as raising chickens. “You could have a little hobby farm.”
The main floor features an eat-in kitchen with a double fridge and island for entertaining, a living room with a gas fireplace, a bedroom, a three-piece bathroom plus a laundry room.
On the second floor, there are six bedrooms — including the primary suite — and one bathroom. While the primary bedroom and its ensuite bathroom are both unfinished, there are two balconies on the second floor.
“The views from up there are very pretty,” said Grover.

The basement is partially finished, with a recreation room and space for a workshop and a cold room. There is also a double-car garage and a deck off the back of the house.
Grover said the house could also suit multi-generational living, as the bedroom on the main floor could be used for an older family member.
The home is close to restaurants, cafés and local shops as well as schools, grocery stores and Highway 6.
Why is it priced this way? Grover said the price of the home was influenced by the value of the barn and the land as well as the square footage and finishes of the home.
The property last sold for $135,000 in 1994, according to HouseSigma, a real estate data collection service.
