
Looking for some family fun this holiday weekend? Well, you won’t have to go far.
The Hamilton Conservation Authority is offering plenty of outdoor activity to get visitors moving.
The Valens IceFest is slated to take place Sunday, February 14. Activities include outdoor games, snowshoeing, ice fishing and ice cutting demonstrations, wagon rides and historical demonstrations.

On Family Day, Monday, February 15, visitors can access two great sites for one low price. Guests can take a Black History Hike to the Griffin House or participate in interactive indoor activities at the Parks Canada Discovery Centre.
Combined ticket
Hot cider will be served at Griffin House, which will be open from 1-4 p.m. The Discovery Centre will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. A combined ticket is available at Griffin House or Discovery Centre at a cost of $10 per adult, $20 per family.
The fun runs from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Admission fees: adults: $7.50, seniors/disabled: $6.50, children 6-12 years old: $4.50. Children five and under get in free. Parking is free.

Winterfest
The Greensville Optimist Club is also organizing plenty of outdoor activities at the annual Winterfest at Rosebough Park this Sunday (Feb. 14) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. – weather permitting.
Visitors are encouraged to bring along their skates or toboggans. In addition, a snowman-making contest will be open to all, with prizes for the best creations. Judging will take place at 1 p.m.
Optimist club members will be volunteering on site, serving up free hot dogs, apple cider and hot chocolate.
